Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Software Developer to design and implement robust embedded software in C/C++ for Unix and Linux environments. You will work with cross-functional teams on device-oriented solutions and features supporting billing and revenue management.

Responsibilities include designing high-quality components, maintaining code in Git/Bitbucket, applying design patterns, and ensuring secure, scalable software.

Qualifications

• Experience with embedded C/C++ on Unix/Linux platforms.
• Proficient with Git workflows and Bitbucket repositories.
• Ability to apply software design patterns for modular, scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded software components in C and C++ for target hardware.
• Develop and maintain applications on Unix/Linux, including shell scripts for performance.
• Manage source code with Git and Bitbucket, including branches and PRs.
• Apply design patterns to ensure modular, scalable embedded solutions.
• Debug and troubleshoot embedded systems to improve stability and reduce defects.
• Collaborate with product/engineering/testing/ops to meet business objectives.
• Refactor code to improve resource utilization and latency.
• Participate in code reviews and secure coding practices.
• Implement build/configuration management for embedded projects in a hybrid work environment.
• Document system designs, module interfaces, and operational procedures.
• Support integration with enterprise systems and billing/revenue workflows.
• Maintain day-shift availability in a hybrid work model.
