Watchfire is recruiting a Senior Software Engineer to join the software engineering team. You will research, design and develop embedded software for our flagship digital signage product, with opportunities to touch user-facing web and mobile interfaces.

You will guide complex design decisions, mentor peers, and contribute across the software lifecycle, from requirements through testing and documentation, as we push innovation in embedded systems and GUI applications.

Competenze

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2–5 years of software engineering experience building embedded systems software.
• Experience with C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with embedded OSs – Linux on ARM/x86; Yocto and Debian a plus.
• Proficiency with Ethernet and Serial communication protocols.
• Experience with Git, Jenkins, Jira and automated testing tools.
• OOD/OOA; UML knowledge is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication; analytical problem-solving skills.

Mansioni

• Architect, design, create and maintain embedded applications for our content playback sub-system.
• Research hardware trends and collaborate with Electrical Engineering on next-gen micro-controllers.
• Help create and review system and software requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote good software practices.
• Prepare test cases for verification and validation of software.
• Assist in data gathering and troubleshooting of products under design or field.
• Participate in all aspects of the software engineering process.
• Follow company procedures and maintain relevant documentation.
