Job summary

Navitas Systems is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support and advance our Battery Management Systems. You will join a small, multidisciplinary team to influence architecture, capabilities, and engineering practices shaping future products.

The ideal candidate brings strong embedded C/C++ experience, 7+ years in production, and hands-on work with CAN (J1939/UDS) and hardware interfaces. You will collaborate across systems, hardware, validation, and manufacturing to deliver production-ready

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Controls or related discipline.
7+ years embedded software/controls experience in production environments.
Experience with V-model software lifecycle (requirements, design, implementation, integration, verification).
Experience interfacing software with electronics, sensors, and control hardware.
BMS, battery, automotive or safety-critical embedded product experience.

Responsibilities

Develop and support BMS software from requirements to production release.
Develop BMS functions: protection, diagnostics, communications, cell monitoring, balancing, SOC/SOH.
Own cross-domain issues across software, electronics, and hardware boundaries.
Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, Validation, Manufacturing, Quality, and Field Application teams to deliver complete battery products.
Define verification methods and perform integration and testing with BMS hardware and systems.
Provide technical direction for external engineering partners.
