Job summary

Lockheed Martin RMS Owego location in NY seeks a Level 3 Senior Software Engineer to own complex embedded software tasks across the lifecycle. You will design, implement, test, and integrate software for avionics and mission computers in safety-critical environments.

You will collaborate across engineering disciplines, mentor junior engineers, and apply DevSecOps practices, CI/CD, and rigorous design reviews while ensuring traceability and high reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience with an Associates Degree in STEM.
• Experience developing C code for embedded environments.
• Experience with hardware interfaces PCIe, SPI, UART, I2C.
• Experience with RTOS or embedded Linux (Wind River VxWorks, LynxOS, Green Hills Integrity or similar).
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD clearance (Secret).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, test, debug embedded software for avionics and mission computers.
• Analyze requirements and develop software designs for RTOS/hypervisors.
• Perform hands-on software/hardware integration and system-level debugging.
• Analyze and resolve issues with processors, FPGAs, peripherals, and hardware/software interfaces.
• Apply software-engineering standards, development processes, configuration management, and coding best practices.
• Support DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD and automated testing.
• Participate in peer reviews and technical design discussions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
