Palladyne AI, a U.S.-based defense and industrial tech company, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop and optimize C++ software for embedded Linux on autonomous systems. The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, multithreading, and cross‑discipline collaboration.

You will work across the software lifecycle—from development to deployment—on Palladyne AI's Pilot and SwarmOS platforms, interfacing with hardware teams to ensure robust, reliable operation on physical systems.

Competenze

• BS degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience in embedded or systems software.
• Strong proficiency in modern C++, including multithreading, smart pointers, containers, memory management, and OO design.
• Hands-on experience with embedded Linux, integrating software with hardware, and debugging across OS and hardware interfaces.

Mansioni

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded Linux software using modern C++ for Palladyne AI's Pilot and SwarmOS products.
• Develop multithreaded, reliable software meeting performance and timing requirements on embedded robotic platforms.
• Drive software/hardware integration, diagnose issues across embedded Linux, communications, and physical systems.
• Develop and troubleshoot interprocess communication and embedded system communications.
• Debug and validate software on physical hardware with hardware teams.
• Implement system-level functionality using Linux interfaces (processes, threads, file systems, DB connections).
• Diagnose and optimize system performance and timing for robotic platforms.
• Document maintainable C++ software and create test plans for functionality and reliability.
• Investigate complex problems and drive solutions through development and deployment.
• Collaborate across software and hardware teams to deploy autonomous systems at customer sites.
