Job summary

Palladyne AI, a U.S.-based defense and industrial technology company, is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop Linux-based robotics software using modern C++. This hands-on role offers ownership across the software lifecycle and cross-disciplinary collaboration on Pilot and SwarmOS projects.

You will solve real-time, multithreaded performance challenges, integrating software with hardware on robotic platforms deployed to customer sites in Salt Lake City. On-site work is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of embedded software experience for Linux-based robotics.
• BS degree in a relevant engineering or computer science field.
• Strong C++ skills with multithreading and system-level programming.
• Experience with software/hardware integration.
• Experience with Git version control.

Responsibilities

• Own and independently develop embedded software for Linux-based robotic systems using modern C++.
• Develop software supporting Palladyne AI’s Pilot and SwarmOS products.
• Drive integration across software and hardware, resolving complex issues.
• Collaborate with hardware and other engineering teams to validate software on physical robots.
• Meet performance, security, reliability, and real-time requirements.
• Design and document OO software, develop test plans, and build multithreaded interprocess software.
• Diagnose and optimize system-level performance for embedded platforms.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines throughout development and deployment.
