Job summary

Real Time Consulting is seeking a Software Engineer - Aircraft Surveillance Systems in Phoenix, AZ. You will perform software development for aircraft surveillance systems in accordance with DO-178 lifecycle, including requirements, code, and verification test procedures.

The role demands 5+ years in aerospace engineering, DO-178 know-how, C/C++ translation of requirements, and experience with SCR/CM tools and cross‑functional collaboration with remote teams and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer/Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years of Aerospace Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of DO-178 Full Lifecycle Development process and its application in the development of complex systems software.
• Experience with requirements capture and management, and associated tools.
• Experience translating software requirements to C/C++ language code.
• Experience in development of detailed design documents.
• Experience translating software requirements to software verification test cases.
• Experience developing software verification test procedures.
• Familiar with SCR processes and tools.
• Familiar with software configuration management processes and tools.
• Positive attitude, strong initiative and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for aircraft surveillance systems per DO-178 lifecycle.
• Create software requirements, code, and verification test cases and procedures.
• Translate requirements into C/C++ implementation and tests.
• Prepare detailed design and verification documentation.
