Job summary

Acron Aviation invites applications for a Lead Software Engineer - Surveillance to guide cross-functional teams in developing avionics software from concept through testing and certification.

You will ensure DO-178C compliance, drive software architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with hardware, systems, and certification teams to deliver safe, reliable surveillance solutions for aviation customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline.
• Experience in safety-critical embedded software in aerospace or regulated industries.
• Experience leading software development efforts and guiding engineering teams.
• Experience supporting software certification activities and aerospace standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to influence technical direction across a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Interface with project leadership on all aspects of the software lifecycle and represent the organization during customer meetings.
• Provide technical leadership for software development activities while ensuring DO-178C compliance.
• Serve as primary technical authority for software-related certification activities and regulatory compliance.
• Drive continuous process improvement to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability.
• Influence strategies for AI technologies in the software lifecycle.
• Lead software estimation activities and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and participate in technical reviews and risk assessments.
• Ensure deliverables meet cost, schedule, quality, and certification objectives.
