Ursa Major in Boulder, CO is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain flight software powering engines, vehicles, and avionics.

You will work in a small, high-impact team on embedded C/C++ development for ARM/SoC/FPGA platforms, with hardware-in-the-loop, debugging, and cross-functional collaboration; the role emphasizes reliability, safety, and performance, with generous benefits and a path for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE/CE or related field.
• 4+ years of embedded C/C++ on ARM/SoC/FPGA platforms.
• Hardware interface programming experience.
• Ability to read schematics and use hardware tools for debugging.
• Proficient with Git version control.
• Capable of independent and collaborative work with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software for avionics throughout the product lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain ground support software tools and systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to define and deliver new software features.
• Document designs, code, and procedures to ensure maintainability and compliance.
• Debug, optimize, and support software and hardware integration efforts.
