Job summary

Wabtec Corporation's Evident Inspection Technologies division in Waltham, MA seeks a Senior Software Architect to own end-to-end software architecture for embedded Qt-based applications, drive design direction, and lead a cross-functional team.

You will shape system designs, APIs, and frameworks for embedded Linux platforms, coordinate CI/CD and OTA updates, and ensure performance and maintainability in a fast-paced, agile environment. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years professional software experience.
• 5+ years in people management including hiring and performance management.
• 7+ years in C++, Qt/QML, embedded application development.
• Strong embedded Linux development background.
• 3+ years managing software projects from design to deployment.
• Experience leading agile teams.
• Ability to conceptualize, design and develop system architectures.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end software architecture for embedded Qt-based applications.
• Develop and maintain system designs, APIs, interface specifications, and design documentation.
• Establish scalable, modular frameworks for complex embedded systems.
• Drive adoption of modern design patterns, testability, maintainability, and performance optimization.
