Job summary

Optimum is a leading provider of connectivity services in the United States. We are seeking a Sr Product Security Engineer focused on embedded security for video, broadband, and Wi‑Fi devices. You will collaborate with engineering, shape product security strategy, and drive secure architecture across the lifecycle.

You will lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and SBOM/Vulnerability disclosure efforts, while mentoring teams to adopt secure practices and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on software engineering for embedded security.
• Expertise in embedded systems and product security practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to present to leadership.
• Experience with threat modeling, risk assessment, and secure SDLC.
• Experience with AI/ML security concepts and governance.
• Proficiency with secure software development lifecycle and DevOps tools.
• Experience with hardware security like TPMs/HSMs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering to embed security into the product lifecycle.
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments early in development.
• Perform rigorous security testing and reviews of software and firmware.
• Lead automation of security processes across dev, cloud, and on‑prem environments.
• Educate and mentor teams to foster a security‑first culture.
• Stay current on threats and implement improvements; support incident response.
• Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability research on devices.
