Job summary

Optimum is seeking a Product Security Engineer focused on embedded systems security for video, broadband, and Wi‑Fi devices. You will partner with engineering and product teams to implement secure architecture, perform threat modeling, and drive secure-by-design practices across the product lifecycle.

You will lead security assessments, automate processes from development to cloud, mentor teams, and stay ahead of evolving threats in a Fortune 500 environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE, or related field required.
• 5+ years building security-critical systems for internet-connected embedded devices.
• Experience with threat modeling, risk assessment, and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering to embed security into the product lifecycle.
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments early in development.
• Perform security testing and reviews to identify weaknesses.
• Lead automations of security processes from developer workstation to cloud and on-prem environments.
• Educate teams to foster a security-first culture.
• Stay updated on threats and trends and implement improvements.
• Contribute to incident response and remediation efforts.
• Conduct firmware, hardware interface, and device software vulnerability research.
• Define SBOM management and vulnerability disclosure processes.
• Align security requirements with IoT/embedded standards (NIST, ETSI, OWASP IoT).
