Job summary

Treeswift is hiring a senior engineer for the embedded team to advance robot software across hardware and cloud integrations. You will contribute to real‑time capabilities, reliability enhancements, and field data pipelines while updating OS and sensor integrations.

This is a hybrid NYC/Philadelphia position with ownership and hands-on architecture across the stack. You will collaborate in a fast-paced, mission‑driven environment, applying expertise in embedded Linux, C++, Python, ROS 2, and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience writing software for Linux in embedded systems.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Python; ROS 2 experience preferred.
• Experience with git, code reviews, ticket-based workflows, unit tests, bench testing, and documentation.
• Proven ability to work on small teams with strong fundamentals and high ownership.
• Experience with two or more of: 32-bit MCUs, embedded Linux, mobile development, cloud IoT platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop robot software and drive on-device or near real-time capabilities.
• Enhance logs, diagnostics, and reliability for scale.
• Optimize data pipelines from field to cloud for large user bases.
• Upgrade operating system and deploy fleet updates.
• Support hardware evolution and new sensor integration.
• Escalation point for embedded issues and rapid customer problem resolution.
