Treeswift is seeking a senior embedded software engineer to drive robot software development for field workers. You will contribute to on-device and near real-time capabilities, build logs and diagnostics, and optimize data pipelines from field devices to the cloud.

Join a mission-driven team in a hybrid role based in New York City or Philadelphia, collaborating across hardware and software to deploy fleet upgrades and sensor integrations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience writing software for Linux in embedded systems.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python; ROS 2 experience preferred.
• Strong fundamentals: git, code review, unit tests, bench testing, documentation.
• Experience with sensors, embedded hardware, and field deployments is a plus.
• Comfortable in fast-paced, high-ownership environments with team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Drive development of robot software on an embedded team.
• Improve on-device and near real-time capabilities for operator experience.
• Develop logs and diagnostics to boost reliability at scale.
• Optimize field-to-cloud data pipelines for large user bases.
• Upgrade OS and deploy fleet-wide updates; support new sensors and hardware.
• Escalation point for embedded issues and customer-facing problem solving.
