Job summary

Treeswift Inc is seeking a senior embedded engineer to drive development of our robot software. You will contribute to on-device and near real-time capabilities, logs, and diagnostics while optimizing the field-to-cloud data pipeline. The role involves hardware evolution support and fleet upgrades across NY/Philly offices.

The team values curiosity, ownership, and mission-focused problem solving, with a hybrid work model and strong emphasis on shipping reliable software for field robotics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience writing software for Linux in embedded systems.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Python; ROS 2 experience preferred.
• Strong engineering fundamentals: git, code review, ticket-based workflows, writing unit tests, bench testing, and clear documentation.
• Comfortable working in Linux from the command line and using AI/LLM tools.
• Hands-on experience with two or more of: 32-bit microcontrollers, embedded Linux, mobile development, NVIDIA Jetson, AWS/Azure IoT.
• Experience deploying ML models onto hardware is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Increase on-device or near real-time capabilities to improve operator experience.
• Develop logs and diagnostic capabilities for robot reliability at scale.
• Optimize field-to-cloud data pipelines for large user bases.
• Develop core robot software, including OS upgrades and fleet deployment.
• Support hardware evolutions and sensor integrations.
• Serve as an escalation point for embedded issues raised by field/tech staff.
