Job summary
Amazon is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our robotics team focusing on controls and embedded software for advanced workcell automation. You will architect, design, develop, and deploy real-time control systems orchestrating robotic manipulation tasks within automated workcells.
You will collaborate with hardware teams, lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and participate in on-call rotations to support production systems.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 4+ years of embedded development in C/C++.
- 4+ years of embedded firmware development experience.
- Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement real-time embedded control software for robotic workcells, including motion controllers and sensor integration.
- Lead architecture design to balance real-time performance with maintainability and extensibility.
- Develop control algorithms and embedded software components within robot controls architecture.
- Collaborate with hardware teams to define control interfaces and device drivers.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems and root-cause analysis.
