Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer specializing in controls and embedded software for robotics workcells. You will design, develop, and deploy real-time control systems enabling precise robotic manipulation within automated workcells.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience on large systems.
• 2+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 4+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, embedded or distributed software applications.
• 2+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Knowledge of full software development life cycle best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement real-time embedded control software for robotic workcells, including motion controllers and sensor integration.
• Develop architectures balancing real-time performance with maintainability and extensibility.
• Own development of control algorithms within Workcell Controls Architecture.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to define interfaces and optimize drivers for embedded platforms.
• Lead design reviews and contribute to scalable, reliable control systems architecture.
• Mentor team members on embedded systems best practices and real-time programming.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems and root cause analysis.
