Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is hiring a Software Development Engineer specializing in controls and embedded software for robotics workcell automation. You will design, develop, and deploy real-time control systems, integrating motion primitives and coordinating multi‑robot operations within automated workcells.

The role spans embedded systems, motion control, and distributed software architecture, requiring broad experience in real-time programming, architecture, and hardware interfacing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture of systems.
• 4+ years designing and developing large-scale, multi‑threaded software using C#, C++, Java or Perl.
• 2+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices across the SDLC.
• Experience designing or architecting new or existing systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement real-time embedded control software for workcells.
• Develop architectures balancing real-time performance with maintainability.
• Own development of control algorithms within Workcell Controls Architecture.
• Partner with hardware teams to define control interfaces and optimize performance.
• Lead design reviews and contribute to scalable, reliable control systems.
• Mentor teammates on embedded systems and real-time programming.
