Terran Orbital is seeking a Staff Embedded Linux Software Engineer to advance high‑reliability software for satellite systems and payloads. You will lead a team, mentor junior engineers, and work with cross‑functional groups to define requirements and ensure robust software across multiple programs.

Minimum 8+ years in C/C++ for embedded systems; experience with RTOS or bare‑metal designs, testing, and MCU architectures is essential. Travel up to 10% may be required; U.S.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of C/C++ for embedded, high‑performance, or mission‑critical systems.
• Experience with bare‑metal or RTOS-based designs (FreeRTOS, embedded Linux).
• Experience with electronic test equipment and embedded debug tools.
• Deep understanding of MCU architectures across multiple families.
• Experience with serial protocols (CAN, RS‑232/422/485, I2C, SPI, PCI).
• Highly motivated, self‑starting, autonomous work style.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. Person or lawful permanent resident for export regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of junior software engineers.
• Develop and maintain embedded software for satellite modules.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define software requirements.
• Architect, design, develop, and maintain fault‑tolerant embedded software.
• Serve as technical lead for multiple satellite programs.
• Create and maintain unit tests; develop system‑level tests.
