Job summary

SpaceX's Starlink team is seeking a Sr. Embedded Software Engineer to design and maintain software for millions of devices deployed globally. You will work on Linux-based firmware for ARM/RISC-V cores, build deployment tools, and contribute to a scalable telemetry system.

You will collaborate with hardware and manufacturing teams to bring up devices in-house and improve reliability, security, and performance across edge gateways and user terminals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or STEM; 5+ years of software experience, or 7+ years without a degree.
• Development experience in C, C++, Golang, Python, or Rust.
• Experience with embedded or low level systems development.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly available, fault-tolerant software for millions of devices.
• Write software for Starlink’s embedded hardware and gateware on ARM/RISC V.
• Develop telemetry and deployment systems for scalable updates.
• Collaborate with hardware, manufacturing, and QA to ensure reliability.
• Improve security, performance, and test coverage across platforms.
• Participate in code reviews and CI/CD tooling
