Job summary

the company is seeking an embedded security engineer to lead security for our device fleet. You will define security and privacy roadmaps, build tooling to measure and improve posture, and partner with product teams to bake secure-by-design into our products.

You will work with security, firmware, and backend engineers to protect our devices and drive security initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience as a security engineer, software engineer, or security consultant.
• Familiarity with security weaknesses, exploits, attacks and mitigations.
• Excellent written & verbal communication & collaborative skills.
• Deep knowledge of Linux-based operating system internals & network protocols.
• Knowledge of hardware security features such as secure boot, TrustZone, disk encryption, or mandatory access control.
• Working cryptography knowledge around primitives, protocols and applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop & drive security requirements for hardware and firmware to improve device security and customer trust.
• Build security tooling to enforce secure development practices.
• Perform red team/offensive assessments against firmware & devices.
• Triage and propose solutions for security bugs from tools, third-party assessments and bug bounties.
• Develop threat models & attack trees; participate in security design & code reviews.
• Collaborate with the CISO and security team to grow the company’s security program.
• Share security experience with other teams via conferences and blogs.
