Job summary

BairesDev is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join its global remote team. You will architect and build embedded Linux distributions, perform board bring-up, and develop BSPs to ensure seamless hardware-software integration.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in embedded Linux, hands-on with Yocto or Buildroot, and strong C/C++ skills on ARM/x86 architectures. This role offers 100% remote work and competitive USD compensation.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Embedded Software Engineering focusing on Linux systems.
Expertise in developing embedded Linux distributions using Yocto Project or Buildroot.
Hands-on with board bring-up, U-Boot, and kernel module development.
Proficiency in low-level systems programming and device driver development.
Deep understanding of ARM or x86 architectures and system-level troubleshooting.
Advanced proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

Architect and build custom embedded Linux distributions tailored to specific hardware needs.
Perform initial board bring-up and hardware initialization using low-level bootloaders like U-Boot.
Develop and maintain Board Support Packages (BSPs) to ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
Design and optimize the Linux kernel and device drivers to enhance system performance and reliability.
Implement robust security protocols and enterprise-grade maintenance for mission-critical embedded systems.
