Sealed Air is seeking an Senior Electrical Engineer focused on Embedded Linux to design, develop, and maintain software for industrial controls. Based at Streetsboro OH, the role emphasizes Yocto Project, Linux image creation, and CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with hardware, controls, and software teams.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years in software/controls, strong C/C++ skills, and hands-on experience with Yocto, BitBake, and Linux administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 7–10 years of software/controls experience with embedded systems.
• Hands-on embedded Linux development experience with Yocto Project/BitBake.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting (Python or Shell).
• Experience with Git and modern software workflows; CI/CD exposure.
• Strong debugging, networking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded Linux systems for industrial control equipment, including GUI/HMI development.
• Build and customize Linux distributions using Yocto Project and BitBake.
• Create board support packages, layers, images, and configuration files.
• Configure drivers, services, boot, networking, and hardware interfaces.
• Support kernel configuration, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
• Develop scripts and tools to improve deployment and diagnostics.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines for embedded software and images.
• Troubleshoot across hardware, boot, kernel, OS, and application layers.
