Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a senior embedded software engineer to advance the Jetson platform for AI at the edge. You will influence hardware analysis through boot firmware, the Linux kernel, and device SDKs, working across a global software team.

Collaborate with hardware and product teams to define system-level architectures for complex SOM designs, build scalable services, optimize resource use, and maintain high software quality and performance through rigorous lifecycle stages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Science or a Master’s with 5+ years in Linux and embedded systems.
• 8+ years of industry experience developing and sustaining embedded products through full lifecycle.
• Strong collaboration to guide multiple teams and extend knowledge into new areas.
• Analytical mindset with focus on problem solving and performance.
• Hands-on development of high-quality software with C/C++/Python/Bash and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Define and expose the capabilities of Jetson and bring AI-at-the-edge platform to life.
• Contribute from hardware analysis through boot firmware to the Linux kernel and OS, including SDKs.
• Lead and collaborate within a worldwide software team with broad impact.
• Collaborate with hardware/product teams to build system-level software architectures for complex SOM designs.
• Build, implement, and improve system services for scalability, reliability, efficiency, and security.
• Resolve complex system-level optimization and resource utilization challenges.
• Participate in a product lifecycle that emphasizes requirements, software quality, and performance.
