Job summary

Checkpoint Systems is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Embedded Linux platforms. The role focuses on Linux application and platform software for RFID readers and edge devices, across services, REST APIs, and device-cloud interactions.

The ideal candidate will own architecture, mentor peers, and deliver reliable software for edge devices and cloud-connected systems with strong ownership and clear communication.

Qualifications

• This role designs and maintains embedded Linux-based services and microservices using Python and Bash.
• Architects software for platform capabilities with emphasis on performance, security and reliability.
• Implements REST APIs for local services and Azure/cloud-connected components.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Linux-based services and microservices for embedded devices.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, QA and operations to ensure reliability.
• Lead code reviews and mentor junior engineers while coding hands-on.
• Develop OTA, provisioning, device-management and telemetry features.
