Job summary

Watchfire Signs, LLC. is looking for a Software Engineer (Embedded Systems, Linux) to join our software engineering team and help build the next generation of our digital signage software product.

The role centers on designing and implementing embedded software for microcontrollers with a strong emphasis on Linux, reliability, and performance. You will collaborate across disciplines, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to requirements, testing and documentation.

Qualifications

BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related.
Minimum 2–5 years of embedded software engineering experience.
Experience with C++ on embedded systems, Linux on ARM/x86, and familiarity with Yocto and Debian.
Proficient with Ethernet and Serial protocols; understanding of OSI model a plus.

Responsibilities

Architect, design, create and maintain embedded applications for content playback subsystems.
Research hardware trends and work with Electrical Engineering to select micro-controllers that are cost-effective and performant.
Help create and review system and software requirements and documentation.
