Job summary

Queue is building edge software for a robotic prescription-filling machine. This senior role owns end-to-end software components, from hardware links to field diagnostics, ensuring fail-safe operation and coordinated firmware updates.

You will work on state machines, MCU boundaries and embedded Linux integration, partnering with firmware, vision and platform reliability teams in a hybrid Bay Area environment.

Qualifications

• Wrote production C/C++ or Rust on Linux and owned shipped code.
• Integrated hardware over CAN, RS-485 and serial links with fault analysis.
• Designed real-time state machines for motion sequencing and safety.
• Understood MCU boundaries and versioned device protocols with firmware.
• Extensive embedded Linux work including services, startup and updates.
• Led field deployments with remote diagnostics and telemetry.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware links between edge software and motor boards, with framing, timing and tests.
• Develop fill sequencing state machines from entry to completion or safe stop.
• Define and test contracts with microcontrollers and vision services.
• Specify Linux image needs and coordinate updates with image owners.
• Address field behavior and diagnostics; participate in version rollouts.
• Enforce fail-closed behavior and prove failure paths on bench.
