Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop C++ software for collision mitigation systems in a Linux environment. You will join an engineering team working on camera, radar, and sensing technologies to boost machine safety and autonomy.

The role requires experience with camera perception, radar integration, and ROS/ROS2, with opportunities across Mossville, IL or Irving, TX offices. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong experience developing C++ applications in a Linux environment.
• Background in camera-based perception systems, computer vision, or sensor integration.
• Experience with radar technologies, object detection, or collision avoidance systems.
• Familiarity with Automotive ADAS concepts and ROS/ROS2 frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop C++ software for collision mitigation systems across Caterpillar products in a Linux-based environment.
• Design, integrate, and validate camera- and radar-based perception features to enhance machine safety and autonomy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver advanced autonomy capabilities using ROS/ROS2.
