Job summary

King Technology is seeking a Principal Engineer to own the technical direction of its first IoT device and companion app. You will lead the full embedded stack, including firmware, connectivity, device-to-cloud integration, and native mobile apps, with end-to-end ownership of architecture, hardware supplier selection, and delivery.

The role requires shipping connected products, making sound architectural decisions, and owning outcomes.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• 15+ years of professional experience in embedded systems, firmware development, or full-stack IoT engineering.
• Experience delivering at least one connected product to market across firmware, mobile, and cloud.
• Proven ability to architect and ship multi-layer IoT solutions.
• Excellent communication and autonomous work style.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end architecture for IoT device, mobile app, and cloud integration.
• Identify hardware suppliers and manage technical due diligence and bring-up.
• Lead firmware development on ARM Cortex-M/ESP32 with RTOS.
• Develop and integrate sensors via I2C/SPI/UART; build drivers.
• Advance wireless tech including BLE/Wi-Fi and secure provisioning.
• Design secure OTA updates and fleet lifecycle management.
• Develop native iOS/Android apps interfacing with device and cloud.
• Contribute to dashboards and product analytics.
• Troubleshoot hardware/firmware with test equipment.
• Ensure security and regulatory compliance for wireless devices.
