Job summary

Badger Meter Inc in Milwaukee seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical hardware design for embedded products and smart sensing technologies, from concept through production, balancing hands-on work with technical leadership.

You will collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and test teams, design analog/digital circuits, use Altium, ensure UL/CE compliance, and mentor junior engineers while advancing cutting-edge water-technology solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of hardware and PCB design experience.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design and system integration.
• Experience with embedded hardware using microcontrollers/processors (ARM, 8/16-bit).
• Proficiency with Altium Designer and hands-on lab experience.
• Ability to lead technical reviews and mentor juniors.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical hardware design for new products and major enhancements.
• Architect, design, and validate analog/digital systems for embedded sensing.
• Drive product development from concept to production with quality and regulatory focus.
• Develop and execute design verification and compliance testing (UL/CE/EMC).
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and test engineers; define production tests.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering excellence.
