Job summary

Rocket Lab USA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to design and develop flight software for spacecraft in the Space Systems division, supporting Tranche 3 for the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. You will work on payload flight software and advanced algorithms for constrained sensor systems.

The role requires a strong background in embedded software, multithreaded design, and experience drafting flight software, with eligibility for U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering.
• 8+ years of embedded software engineering experience.
• Experience designing complex multithreaded applications.
• Experience designing flight software.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role supporting the development of payload flight software for Space Systems programs.
• Focus on deployment of novel algorithms into austere environments on Size/Weight/Power constrained sensor systems.
• Participate in all aspects of software design and development from requirements to deployment.
• Drive core software fundamentals of performance-oriented programming with accelerator technologies.
• Be part of a team delivering challenging space projects with impact.
