Job summary

Skyryse in El Segundo, CA is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and verify flight software in embedded C for DO-178C DAL A. You will work on low-level drivers, safety-critical monitoring, and hardware/software interfaces, collaborating with electrical engineers on bring-up and integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of professional working experience.
• Experience building low-level drivers in embedded C.
• Experience with RTOS.
• Experience in developing software requirements, design, test, and verification documents.
• Experience in working with oscilloscopes, DMMs, and understanding schematics.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop flight software in embedded C in accordance with DO-178C DAL A.
• Develop low-level drivers and safety-critical monitoring systems for flight-critical applications.
• Develop and test embedded software components to interface with and control peripherals such as motors, encoders, heaters, and sensors.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers on hardware/software integration, including bring-up of new hardware and resolution of interface issues.
• Write, review, and approve software requirements, architecture, and design documents; support review of system-level requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development and verification processes to reduce cost and cycle time.
