Job summary
Skyryse is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer in El Segundo, CA to develop flight software in embedded C, including low-level drivers and safety-critical monitoring systems. You will collaborate with electrical engineers on hardware/software integration and support FAA/DER reviews.
The role requires a BS in CS/CE or similar, 5+ years’ experience, and familiarity with DO-178C, RTOS, and software verification artifacts.
Qualifications
- BS degree in computer science, computer engineering or similar engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software.
- Experience building low-level drivers in embedded C.
- Experience with RTOS and safety-critical software processes.
- Experience documenting software requirements, design, tests, and verifications.
- Familiarity with oscilloscopes, DMMs, and reading schematics.
- Self-starter able to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop flight software in embedded C per DO-178C DAL A.
- Develop low-level drivers and safety-critical monitoring systems.
- Interface with hardware peripherals and perform bring-up with electronics team.
- Write, review, and approve software requirements, architecture and design documents.
- Support FAA/DER reviews and system-level requirements.
- Improve development and verification processes to reduce cost and cycle time.
