Meta is seeking a Software Engineer to join our embedded engineering team in Burlingame, CA. You will design and implement embedded firmware and low-level software for resource-constrained hardware, bridging hardware and software to deliver reliable, high-performance systems.

You will work across the full lifecycle—from bring-up and driver development to RTOS integration and HAL design—while optimizing power, memory, and real-time execution.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or equivalent; degree completed before joining Meta.
• 5+ years of experience developing embedded firmware or low-level software in C/C++.
• Experience with RTOS, bare-metal or embedded Linux environments.
• Experience developing or debugging device drivers, HALs, or BSPs for microcontrollers or SoCs.
• Experience writing automated tests and using debugging tools (JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, serial debuggers).
• Experience analyzing and optimizing embedded software for power, latency, or memory constraints.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware and low-level software for resource-constrained hardware.
• Develop and debug device drivers, HALs, and BSPs for custom silicon and peripherals.
• Configure RTOS to meet latency, power, and memory requirements.
• Write automated tests (unit/integration/hil) to validate firmware behavior.
• Instrument firmware with logging and metrics for observability and reliability.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to define firmware interfaces and resolve dependencies.
