Job summary

AssetWatch in Columbus, OH is seeking a Firmware Engineer to develop production embedded firmware and contribute to electrical design, hardware bring‑up, validation, and product launch. This hands‑on role moves from code to bench, across firmware, hardware, and manufacturing teams.

You will enable connectivity (BLE, Wi‑Fi, Ethernet, cellular), implement OTA/FOTA updates, and support Linux/RTOS components, documentation, and release processes to ship reliable devices from prototype to production.

Qualifications

• Must have production embedded firmware development experience in C/C++.
• Experience reading schematics and supporting board bring‑up, and troubleshooting analog/digital/power issues.
• Experience with network‑connected devices and modern connectivity protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production embedded firmware in C/C++ for sensors, hubs, gateways, and related hardware.
• Design and debug features for device communication, scheduling, data collection, configuration, diagnostics, logging, and OTA/FOTA updates.
• Develop and troubleshoot connectivity across BLE, WiFi, Ethernet, and cellular paths, including TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP, TLS, MQTT/HTTP, provisioning and network diagnostics.
• Support embedded Linux and/or RTOS components and edge services that connect device firmware to backend/cloud systems.
