Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners, LLC is seeking a Senior Application Engineer, Software/Firmware (Embedded Linux) for a fully remote role within the United States. The role focuses on embedding software integrations across hardware platforms, serving as the bridge between internal teams and OEM partners.

Ideal candidates have strong experience with embedded Linux, BSP development, firmware integration, and system-level debugging, and are comfortable working with hardware partners to drive scalable

Qualifications

• 6+ years of embedded software and firmware development experience.
• Strong experience with embedded Linux BSP bring-up, driver development, and kernel-level debugging.
• Proficiency in C or C++ for embedded development.
• Experience with Python or similar scripting for automation and tooling.
• Experience with embedded development tools such as JTAG, GDB, tracing, profiling, and debugging utilities.
• Experience integrating software across multiple hardware platforms or OEM/vendor environments.

Responsibilities

• Partner with OEM software and firmware teams to define integration requirements and solutions.
• Adapt and integrate embedded software stacks across hardware platforms.
• Develop and modify OS-level and firmware components, including Linux BSPs and drivers.
• Debug and resolve complex integration issues using embedded tools and profiling utilities.
• Own end-to-end software integration from kickoff through validation and deployment.
• Build and maintain validation frameworks, test plans, and configuration tools.
