Job summary

Temposonics is seeking an experienced embedded firmware engineer to own the firmware for magnetostrictive sensors. You’ll design the core timing, signal processing, and calibration pathways, and deliver reliable outputs over analog and industrial networks.

You will collaborate with the Cary R&D team and global colleagues to drive architecture, tests, and product quality across firmware and hardware boundaries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years embedded firmware development experience at the component level.
• Strong C and C++ proficiency on 32-bit MCUs (ARM Cortex‑M).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize core measurement firmware: pulse generation, return-signal detection, time-of-flight to position conversion, and output interfaces.
• Develop firmware for analog and digital outputs (0‑10 V, ±10 V, 4–20 mA) and for CANbus and Industrial Ethernet protocols (EtherCAT, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP).
• Integrate multi-protocol stacks (e.g., CANopen, SAE J1939) and device descriptions; maintain drivers and BSP for ARM Cortex‑M or similar MCUs.
• Lead firmware architecture direction and collaborate with global engineering teams (Ludenscheid, Hyderabad).
• Provide technical mentorship and support across hardware/firmware bring-up and validation.
