Job summary

Keysight Technologies Inc. in California is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to lead embedded software and firmware development for precision measurement systems used in semiconductor manufacturing.

You will build robust C/C++ code, contribute to CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, collaborate with hardware and software teams, and help ensure reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction through rigorous testing and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 4–8 years of experience in embedded software development.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and scripting (e.g. Bash/Python).
• Familiarity with Unix-based development environments and version control (GIT).
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
• Preferred: RTOS (VxWorks) and C# knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Drive Department Standards: lead a group of engineers to apply corporate wide resources and develop best practices in laser interferometry.
• Design and Develop: build robust embedded software and firmware drivers in C/C++ for precision measurement systems; includes unit and system tests.
• Maintain and Support: sustain released software for long-term reliability and customer satisfaction.
• Integrate Across Disciplines: collaborate with hardware and other teams to ensure seamless integration and negotiate design trade-offs.
• Automate and Optimize: develop CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and perform system-level debugging and tuning.
• Communicate Effectively: present results clearly to peers, management, and cross-functional teams.
• Document Thoroughly: create and maintain technical documentation, specifications, development processes, tests and results.
• Stay Current: apply best practices in embedded development and stay informed on industry trends.
• Uphold Standards: demonstrate ethical conduct and safety compliance in all activities.
