Job summary

1X is seeking a firmware engineer to own the embedded software across core hardware subsystems of our humanoid robot charger and BMS. You’ll ensure robust, safe firmware that scales from prototype to production and enables reliable operation of power, control electronics, and the distributed embedded nodes.

You’ll work at the hardware–software boundary, implement CAN interfaces, power‑converter control loops, fault protection, and thorough testing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of embedded firmware development in C/C++ on real hardware.
• Experience with interrupts, DMA, and timing-critical execution.
• Battery charging knowledge with CC-CV and multi-stage protocols.
• Embedded bus fluency with CAN for charger-to-BMS coordination.
• Hardware debugging with scopes, probes, and power analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Own the firmware layer across charger hardware subsystems.
• Develop and maintain charger firmware controlling AC-DC power conversion.
• Architect CAN interface between charger and BMS.
• Test, validate, and verify firmware releases.
• Implement power converter control loops in firmware.
• Develop fault detection and protection firmware.
