Job summary

EPG is seeking a Controls / Firmware Engineer for one of our partners, a high-voltage battery and power-electronics company delivering technology to a backup-power product for AI data centers. You will own the embedded controls and firmware that tie the battery, converter, and rack together and ensure the system runs and fails safely.

Responsibilities include owning the control architecture, developing charge/discharge algorithms, implementing fault detection and graceful degradation, and

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of embedded controls or firmware for power systems.
• Real-time control of power converters or BMS.
• Embedded C/C++ with CANbus and/or Modbus.

Responsibilities

• Own the control architecture tying BMS, power converter, and rack power management together.
• Write charge/discharge algorithms and mode transitions (grid-tied, UPS, islanded).
• Build fault detection, protection, and graceful-degradation logic.
• Implement communications to datacenter IT (Modbus, CANbus, PMBus).
• Own hardware-in-the-loop and system-level testing.
