Formlabs, based in Boston, seeks engineers to own firmware across Formlabs printers. You will write kernel modules, QT/QML UI, and cloud connectivity using MQTT and protobuf standards. Expect to ship features rapidly to thousands of printers in the field.

You will mainly code in C++, Python, with some Go and TypeScript, and test in simulated/dev environments before real hardware validation. This role is on-site in Massachusetts.

Qualifications

• Experience writing firmware for hardware products.
• Strong C/C++ and Python skills.
• Experience with embedded systems and drivers is preferred.
• Familiarity with Qt/QML and Yocto is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Build software that runs on Formlabs printers and fleets. Create a printer abstraction layer so one codebase drives multiple machines.
• Write kernel modules for sensors lacking drivers and develop UI with Qt 6 / QML and GStreamer camera streams.
• Connect printers to the cloud and Formlabs mobile app over MQTT using protobuf interfaces.
• Develop mostly in C++ and Python; some Go and TypeScript as needed.
• Test in dev containers with cross‑compilation SDKs; enable CI to validate nightly builds.
