Job summary

Dymax, part of the Bachmann Chemical & Engineering family, seeks a seasoned Firmware Equipment Engineer in Torrington, CT. You will craft robust embedded firmware, translate customer needs, and drive NPI through Stage-Gate with cross-functional teams for reliable equipment launches.

Responsibilities include designing real-time controls, validating with hardware-in-the-loop, and maintaining clear specifications and release notes. A strong SDLC background and IoT familiarity are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of embedded firmware experience with shipped releases.
Strong C/C++ programming and real-time control knowledge.
Experience with SPI, I2C, UART, RS-485, Ethernet/IP.
Linux experience for embedded applications.
Experience with MCU ecosystems (Microchip MPLAB, NXP).
SDLC practices, NPI Stage-Gate, verification planning, regression testing.
IoT concepts and implementations.
Embedded web development experience.
ERP systems experience (JD Edwards E1) a plus.
Hands-on, organized, and disciplined with good communication.

Responsibilities

Develop embedded C/C++ firmware and real-time controls.
Translate product and customer needs into firmware requirements and interfaces.
Support NPI through Stage-Gate processes and verification lifecycle.
Create and maintain test plans and documentation for releases.
Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Product, Test, Operations, and Service teams.
