Job summary
Dymax, based in Torrington, CT, seeks an experienced Firmware Equipment Engineer to develop robust embedded firmware for our light-curable adhesive and curing equipment. You will translate customer needs into firmware requirements, implement real-time controls, and support NPI through Stage-Gate processes.
You will work with Electrical, Mechanical, Product, Test, Operations, and Service teams to bring new platforms from concept to release, ensuring test data, documentation, and traceability are
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- 10+ years in embedded firmware with shipped releases in electromechanical products.
- Strong C/C++ programming with RT controls, drivers, bootloaders, and GUI fundamentals.
- Experience with SPI, I2C, UART, RS-485, Ethernet/IP.
- Linux knowledge for embedded applications.
- Experience with Microcontroller ecosystems (e.g., Microchip/MPLAB, NXP).
- Familiarity with SDLC, NPI Stage-Gate, verification and regression testing.
- IoT concepts and embedded web development experience.
- JD Edwards E1 experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop embedded C/C++ firmware and real-time controls for equipment platforms.
- Prototype, bench validate, and perform hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Create and maintain design notes, diagrams, and release documentation.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, product, test, operations, and service teams.
- Plan firmware verification, write test cases, and run regression tests.
- Maintain version control and reproducible releases; support SDLC practices.
