Job summary

LHP Engineering Solutions in Chicago, IL is seeking a Staff Embedded Firmware Engineer to architect and develop core software for automotive grade real-time ECUs. The role includes driving AUTOSAR MCAL integration, implementing secure bootloaders, and coordinating with suppliers to deliver robust firmware.

The candidate will lead design reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure high performance and safety in embedded systems, with a strong emphasis on ISO-26262 and cybersecurity practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in Embedded software development (Low level drivers/BSP and Middle layer services/BSW) in C and assembly language.
• Experience building and leading firmware solutions for automotive grade ECUs.
• Experience with microcontrollers (16/32-bit automotive grade), compilers/linkers.
• Experience with CAN based protocols and automotive diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop new generation core software solution for automotive grade real time ECUs.
• Design and develop firmware software, bootloader with security features for ECUs.
• Configure and Integrate AUTOSAR MCAL based drivers with legacy middle layer modules.
• Lead software development tasks with suppliers and integrate supplier provided modules.
• Troubleshoot and fix bugs during verification and validation cycles.
• Develop and maintain software documentation (SDD, SRS, API docs).
• Ensure compliance with safety and performance requirements of real time embedded systems.
