Job summary

CNH is seeking a Senior Firmware Software Engineer to join the Real-time Core software team. You will design and develop core software for automotive ECUs, including BSP drivers, RTOS, bootloaders, and cybersecurity features.

Requires 7+ years embedded experience in C/assembly, and familiarity with CAN protocols and ISO26262 Functional Safety. Competitive US salary and bonus potential, on-site role in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Software engineering is required.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Embedded software development (Low level drivers/RTOS) in C and assembly language.
• Experience with CAN protocols (e.g. J1939, XCP, KWP, UDS) and cybersecurity implementations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop firmware BSP drivers, RTOS, bootloader with cybersecurity features for ECUs.
• Benchmark and select suitable third-party software components, microcontrollers, SOCs etc.
• Cybersecurity Software Design and development.
• Lead software development tasks with external software suppliers and internal requirements teams.
• Troubleshoot and fix bugs reported by HIL, product validation team or application software team during verification and validation cycle.
• Develop and maintain software documentation: SDD, SRS, API documentation, product functional spec etc.
• Ensure that software adheres to coding standards and meets stringent performance and safety requirements of real-time embedded system.
• Contribute to Functional Safety relevant software functions in accordance with ISO25119, ISO13849/ISO19014 or ISO26262.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Software Engineering

Ph.D. or M.S. in Engineering preferred
