Job summary

Uber AV Labs in Sunnyvale builds the next generation data-driven autonomous vehicle infrastructure. This role anchors diagnostics, health monitoring, and fleet dashboards across MCU and Linux compute in our data-collection vehicles.

You will implement fault detection, observability pipelines, and alerting to ensure reliable operation and rapid triage, with opportunities to contribute to safety and security features in production workflows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years embedded software development in C/C++ on RTOS or embedded Linux.
• Hands-on with UDS (ISO 14229) and DTC handling.
• Experience with CAN/CAN-FD and Automotive Ethernet in vehicles.
• Knowledge of Linux observability using eBPF tools and profilers.

Responsibilities

• Design fault detection, event and DTC handling across MCU and Linux compute.
• Build vehicle health monitoring pipelines with metrics and logs.
• Develop dashboards and alerts in Grafana/Prometheus for fleet health.
• Enable field triage and test automation from monitoring data.
• Support production line integration and end-of-line diagnostics.
