Job summary

Uber is building the AV Labs hardware team in Sunnyvale, CA and seeks an Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and validate electrical hardware for autonomous vehicles, including power distribution, compute interfaces, and sensor connections.

The role emphasizes hands-on bring-up, testing, and debugging across lab and vehicle environments, collaboration with E/E Architecture, Mechanical, Firmware, and Vehicle Integration, and participation in design reviews and supplier engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with hands-on hardware design experience.
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB development, prototype bring-up, debugging, and validation.
• Familiarity with OrCAD/Altium for schematic capture and PCB layouts.

Responsibilities

• Design circuits and PCB assemblies for autonomous vehicle hardware including power distribution and sensor interfaces.
• Perform hands-on bring-up, characterization, debugging, and root-cause analysis of prototype hardware.
• Develop and execute Design Validation Plans to verify electrical performance, power integrity and EMC/EMI.
• Support electrical integration into vehicle platforms and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain schematics, BOMs, and documentation; participate in design reviews and supplier coordination.
