Job summary

RTX (Raytheon Technologies) in Aurora, Colorado, is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design and deploy embedded RTOS software for autonomous avionics. Onsite role requiring a Secret clearance; you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure reliability and safety.

The position offers relocation support and a comprehensive benefits package. Candidates should have 5+ years in embedded software, strong C++, and experience with Green Hills, Integrity, VxWorks, or Linux.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM.
Minimum 5 years of embedded software experience.
Proficiency in Embedded C++ and real-time OS such as Green Hills, Integrity, VxWorks, or Linux.
Experience in integrated hardware, firmware, and software.
Background in embedded software security, architecture design, and implementation.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

Architect, design, implement, test, debug, and deploy embedded real‑time software for autonomous avionics systems.
Work with product owners, chief engineers, and cross‑discipline teams using lean and/or agile practices to ensure high reliability and mission assurance.
Contribute to proposals and participate in preliminary and critical design reviews.
Teach, coach, and mentor less experienced staff.
Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and system teams to define, refine, and improve product concept, implementation, and testability.
Ensure software meets functional reliability, safety, and programmatic requirements.
