Job summary

Cintal, Inc. is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to develop and maintain engine control and energy electronics software. You will design, code, test, and debug in C/C++, support MATLAB/Simulink model-based development, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product reliability.

The role requires 5+ years in embedded software for automotive/energy electronics, strong CAN/J1939 knowledge, and a solid understanding of RTOS and software development lifecycle.

JOB DESCRIPTION/TYPICAL TASK BREAKDOWN:

• Develop and maintain embedded control software for energy electronics and engine control applications.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development for automotive, industrial, or energy electronics applications.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Strong programming skills in Embedded C/C++.
• Experience in embedded software development, integration, testing, and debugging.
• Knowledge of embedded control systems and real-time software applications.
• Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink and Model-Based Development (MBD).
• Experience with software validation, verification, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with CAN, J1939 , and other embedded communication protocols.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle, requirements management, and version control.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Knowledge of automotive, engine controls, or energy electronics systems preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with automotive, engine controls, or energy electronics systems.
