Job summary

Cintal, Inc. is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to design, implement, and validate software for automotive and industrial control systems.

You will develop SIL/HIL tests and automated validation scripts, using MATLAB/Simulink and Python, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and performance. The role emphasizes verification and validation, debugging in real-time environments, and contributing to design reviews to deliver robust solutions.

JOB DESCRIPTION/TYPICAL TASK BREAKDOWN:

• Design, develop, and validate embedded software solutions for control systems and electronic products.
• Create and execute Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test plans and test cases.
• Develop automated test scripts and validation frameworks using Python, C++, and related tools.
• Perform software verification and validation activities to ensure compliance with functional and customer requirements.
• Analyze test results, troubleshoot software defects, and support root cause investigations.
• Work with MATLAB/Simulink models for system development, integration, and testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, systems, hardware, and product engineering.
• Document test procedures, validation reports, and technical findings.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in embedded software development, verification, and validation.
• Experience with embedded control systems, ECU development, or real-time software applications.
• Hands‑on experience with Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing environments.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for modeling, simulation, and validation activities.
• Experience developing automated test scripts using Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), software verification, and validation methodologies.
• Experience with debugging, root cause analysis, and defect resolution in embedded systems.
• Familiarity with automotive, industrial, off‑highway, or heavy equipment control systems is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
